Puerto Rico
We just got back from a vacation in Puerto Rico, and a boricua acquaintance said to me, "You just spent a week in Puerto Rico, and you don't have a tan?"
To which I replied, "This is me with a tan."

Learn about the bioluminescent bay we swam in off the island of Vieques. A true natural treasure.

Yes, I'm Old
How I know I'm getting older:

  1. My friends start talking about their health problems.
  2. I start talking about my health problems.
  3. I'm in bed by 11. Even on weekends.
  4. I like going to Lowe's.
  5. When I see high school girls, I immediately think they should eat more.

Future Plans
Everyone's been asking about law school, and I can finally reveal the answer. Yes, I'm going to law school in the fall (Aug 2004). I'm going into NC Central's night program. The reason for my reticence is that I was working some things out with El Pueblo about whether or not I would stay there or whether I would quit & go to law shool full time.

So here's the deal. I'm staying at El Pueblo. I've been promoted to Deputy Director and will be working 9-5 and then going to night classes for law school a couple of times a week. Am I loca? Maybe. Ask me again in a year.

Reading Frenzy
I have GOT to stop reading. I get on this reading rampages, and it's like I'm hooked on crack. I've read the following books in the past ten days:

  • Prince of Shadows, Curt Benjamin
  • Prince of Dreams, Curt Benjamin
  • Assassin's Apprentice, Robin Hobb
  • Royal Assassin, Robin Hobb
  • Assassin's Quest, Robin Hobb
  • Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice
  • Vampire Lestat, Anne Rice

Yes, that really is 7 books in 10 days. My problem is my Barnes & Nobles credit card. I get gift certificates for books every month. Books are free now. Free is not always good.

Mini Woes
So my pride & joy is my 2004 Mini Cooper, which I got in February. It's a dream machine, but...
*Problem #1: The trunk latch is broken.
*Problem #2: The ONLY Mini Dealership in NC is in Winston-Salem.

Keep that in mind the next time you buy a car. 2-hour drives on the weekend to get a car fixed = no fun.
On the good side, My friend Connie lives in W-S, so that made up for the drive.
